Izzie's Caravan- the band
Saturday Jul 10, 2021
Saturday Jul 10, 2021
The self-proclaimed musical child of early-Aerosmith and Johnny Winter, the roots of ‘Izzie’s Caravan’ trace back to the early 2000’s when Izzie (guitars) and Sim (vocals) formed ‘The Deep Impacters’. The band soon disbanded after a couple of records, and becoming disillusioned by the music industry, Izzie took a decades-long respite from guitar, eventually returning to the instrument he loved, just a few years ago. Referring to himself as a “poor man’s Buddy Guy or Lightnin’ Hopkins,” Izzie cites bands like Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith as early influences, followed by later guitarists like Izzy Stradlin and John Frusciante. But, it was the blues of Stevie Ray, Clapton, John Lee Hooker, Johnny Winter, Muddy Waters, and of course, Buddy Guy, that inspired Izzie’s return to music. In December of 2019, Izzie’s Caravan released the EP, ‘Leo’s Guitar’, followed by the February 2020 EP, ‘Zephyrs’. Izzie’s next EP, titled ‘On The Pull’ was released on June 17, 2020 with MTS Records. The record saw much success reaching the Relix Jamband Charts and a #1 iTunes single (‘Drownin’ Man’s Blues’). Reunited with Sim, and joined by Robbie (keys) and Roque (bass), the band is set to release a full- length album in the Summer of 2021 titled ‘Blow The Lid’. However, to keep the music flowing, the band will be releasing one song every month for the next ten months from the album. Visit the following links to check out slamming singles from the new album including ‘Stick It To Ya’ and ‘Roadkill Rita’.

Robert Wagner and The little Wretches

“My songs are mirrors, and I often begin or end my performances by playing a version of The Velvet Underground’s “I’ll Be Your Mirror” extended to more than ten-minutes in length to include some of the images that most shaped my view of the world as a young man—working men and women enslaved in pursuit of the dollar, the now-vacant void from whence the spirit fled filled with the distraction of mindless entertainment, alcohol and assorted drugs, people so numb that self-destructive violence has lost its impact and the only way they can hope to feel anything is to hurt the people they love...God wanted me to grow up to defend the weak and vanquish the evil- doers by writing songs and telling stories. And if I’m wrong, I’ve wasted my life.” - Robert Wagner As frontman and chief songwriter/lyricist for 80s/90s seminal Pittsburgh rock band, Little Wretches, Robert Wagner rode a wave of local notoriety that led the band to the forefront of the underground music scene. The Little Wretches were founded as a folk/punk band by Robert (guitar) and his brother, Chuckie (violin). The “classic” Mach 2 era of Little Wretches included Ed Heidel (bass), Chris Bruckhoff (percussion, wind instruments, backing vocals) and Bob Goetz (guitar), rounded out by Dave Mitchell (drums), Mike Michalski (bass) and Ellen Hildebrand (electric guitar.) This rock edition of the band performed regularly and helped the band build its massive following in Pittsburgh. Michalski, Mitchell and Chuckie Wagner left the band, effectively ending Mach 2. Mach 3 began with the addition of David Losi (keyboards) and Mike Madden (drums.) When Madden couldn’t tour, drum programmer Gregg Bielski took over. When Ellen switched to bass guitar, this version of The Little Wretches entered the studio. They recorded two albums, with Angelo George playing drums and Jon Paul Leone playing guitar on a third. National press, attorneys, managers, and publicists came calling, as did life’s obligations, and the Little Wretches disbanded in the late 90s.

John McDonough- Country Music Singer songwriter

Friday Jun 18, 2021
John McDonough is a singer/songwriter from Austin, Texas whose shows span five decades of hits combined with unique originals. John’s acoustic guitar work, passionate vocals, and personal lyrics result in a modern singer/songwriter sound rarely heard. John has spent the last 25 years playing in and around Austin while co- producing and self releasing eight CD’s of original music. He has played to the rowdy crowds of 6th street, the dinner crowds of Austin restaurants, and everything in-between. Nine years ago he decided to retire from practicing psychotherapy and focus solely on music. In that time he has written and recorded five new CD’s, played over 500 gigs, performed in eleven major music festivals, several times appeared and performed on local and national radio, and embarked on successful tours through the United States. His previous three releases, ‘Dreams and Imagination,’ ‘Surrounding Colors,’ and ‘Can You See Me Now’ all received great reviews and airplay all over Europe and the United States. All three releases spent six consecutive months on the Americana Music Association Record Chart as well as landing on other American radio charts. He has drawn comparisons to Elton John and Harry Chapin for his vocal style and abilities, while his emotional storytelling has been compared with the songwriting styles of James Blunt and Damien Rice. 2020 brought some unexpected changes for John. With the pandemic and travel restricted, John used his time to work on his guitar skills and record an acoustic CD named ‘Second Chances.’ ‘Second Chances’ consists of his favorite songs from ‘Dreams and Imagination’ (2014) and ‘Surrounding Colors’ (2016), and will be released March 17th, 2021. He also decided to move to Chicago to be closer with family as well as take advantage of new musical opportunities in the area. John plans to tour the United States and Europe in 2021, while continuing to write new music for his next release.

Mauri Dark- Singer Songwriter

Friday Jun 18, 2021
On December 18th, the iTunes Folk Song chart-topper from Finland releases his debut album, along with the 3rd single and lyric video for "Poison Woman." On December 18th, 2020, Turku-Finland based singer/songwriter and iTunes chart-topper Mauri Dark releases his debut album, "Dreams Of A Middle-Aged Man." Dark is also releasing "Poison Woman," the third single and (lyric) video from the album. This new single and video follow Dark's November 6th debut with the title track and the November 19th second single release, "Thin Line Of Understanding." “Poison Woman” is a rock-spiced, up-tempo song from the dark, folky debut. 70s drums, bass, Western movie-ish electric guitar and a doomsday piano are the framework for Mauri Dark’s acoustic baritone guitar and deep, low voice. After five albums and hundreds of shows, the frontman for metal duo, Mystons (born Mauri Kosonen, 1978) has stepped into the bare boots of a vulnerable acoustic storyteller. “Poison Woman” is the first song written for his debut. “Poison Woman' is the end song of my 7-year relationship. It is about two people who brought out the worst in each other," Mauri Dark says. “I wrote it when I was living alone in a forest cabin in Finland in 2016. My mother had stage 3 cancer, and the word ‘poison’ came from the treatments. She died on May 27, 2017. 364 days later I was happily married, and our firstborn daughter was born. This roller-coaster of life wrote my debut album.” Dreams Of A Middle-Aged Man, the album, was written, produced, recorded and performed by Mauri Dark. The sound was crafted with Mixing Engineer / Associate Producer Hiili Hiilesmaa (HIM, Apocalyptica), Mastering Engineer Vlado Meller (Metallica, Johnny Cash) and Associate Producer Jussi Vuola. The road to recognition has been fast since the November 6th, 8-minute debut single “Dreams Of A Middle-Aged Man”. Its 12K-viewed music video, directed by Vesa Ranta, was selected for the Sweden Film Festivals Finals. The November 19th single “Thin Line Of Understanding” has 21K Spotify listens. Worldwide radioplay, playlist adds, dozens of stories, interviews and flattering reviews can be summed up with Jamsphere’s “a deeply affecting sound experience.” Mauri Dark recently teamed with reputable US Manager / Promoter Michael Stover of MTS Management Group / MTS Records (IMEA Artist Manager of the Year in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019). The album is founded on Mauri Dark’s experience: 25 years of songwriting, 8 albums, and 500 shows with different bands and instruments. Strong compositions and lyrics are led by Mauri’s low voice and backed by acoustic baritone guitar, with varying moods and soundscapes. The atmospheric, discreet backgrounds are built with acoustic instruments such as piano, pump organ, cello and upright bass, adding electric guitar ambience (á la Pink Floyd, Ennio Morricone’s Western soundtracks, blues and jazz), and acoustic drums and electric bass on two tracks.
